SoonCall: Combatting loneliness one conversation at a time

SoonCall founder stood in a forest

Hi everyone! Some of you may already know me, some of you won’t, so I thought I’d do a quick intro!

I’m Mark, founder of SoonCall the social wellbeing app that helps you stay connected with friends and family over geographical distance.

Those of you that have already met me, will know there’s more to the story that brought me to the point of startup founder.

I’m currently living in the UK, and working as a mobile developer with the talented bunch over at Pocketworks.

In the years running up to this, I’ve gained insight working on mobile apps with a variety of different clients across multiple sectors including fitness, transport, sports news and gaming.

I also spent 4 years in research, where I got my PhD in Computer Science studying the weird and wonderful world of random fibre networks (the kind you see inside cells, or when you stick a face mask under a microscope).

Across all of this, I’ve met some amazing people that I’m proud to call friends. Unfortunately, many of us now live across the world and keeping in touch is a bit of a nightmare…

This is where the inspiration for SoonCall came from, reconnecting with loved ones across distance 🌍 If you’re interested, you can sign up to get early access to the app.

You can also give SoonCall a follow on socials to find out more! Instagram is where we are most active at the moment.

If it’s not your cup of tea, that’s fine too 🙂 Feel free to still connect with me personally, you can find me over on LinkedIn
